The Forbes Best Places to Retire In 2023 list aims to identify the top choices across the U.S. for high quality retirement living at an affordable price. The latest median home price nationally is $376,000, according to the National Association of Realtors. All of their 25 picks are below that, many substantially so.
Pittsburgh is one of Forbes’ perennial favorites—on the list for 11 of 13 years and for the sixth year in a row. It remains one of the most affordable cities on the East Coast, with an abundance of universities providing cultural and learning opportunities and first-rate medical care.
